The paid entry fee is non-refundable. In case of announcing non-participation by June 30, 2024, the participant has the opportunity to apply the entry fee to the next edition of the event. If a participant announces their non-participation for health reasons and provides documentation from a treating doctor between July 01, 2024, and July 26, 2024, they also have the opportunity to apply the entry fee to the next edition of the event.
If you cannot participate and want to transfer your starting number to another participant, you can do so by sending an email to registracia@becool.sk no later than June 30, 2024. However, the person originally registered must contact us and provide all details about the new participant. The starting package is collected and the declaration is confirmed by the new participant. After receiving the starting package, preregistration is no longer possible.
Preregistration between July 01, 2024, and the day when the distribution of starting packages begins is subject to a fee of €5, which will be paid upon receipt of the starting package or by bank transfer. The starting number is non-transferable. If the organizer determines that a different runner ran with the starting number than the one listed in the registration system, the participant will be disqualified.
Insurance:
All participants are required to arrange individual health insurance (standard general health insurance covered by one of the insurers !!!). The organizer is not responsible for property damage or health-related issues related to travel, stay, and participation of participants in the event. Each participant starts at their own risk and is responsible for their health condition upon starting and participating in the event. The organizer will provide medical and rescue services at the event.
Every participant is obliged to verify the stated health insurance during the presentation (this also applies when picking up the race package for another participant). Foreign participants must present a photocopy of the health insurance card confirming coverage for this event. Without presenting this confirmation, the race package will not be issued to the runner, even if the registration fee has been paid.
In the online registration form, you have the opportunity to fill in health information about yourself. These data will be used by the organizer exclusively in case of health complications of the runner and subsequent treatment by health and rescue services. If you are interested, please supplement the provided information with your current health problem, illness, allergy, contact person, or any other important information that may help us in case you need medical assistance during or after the race. If any changes occur between registration and presentation, please inform the organizers of these facts during the presentation. Before the start, we recommend that runners undergo a medical examination.
Timing:
Timing using chips is provided by the company VOS-TPK. The chip is part of the race number and you will receive it at the presentation along with the race number. You do not need to return the chip after crossing the finish line; it remains with you as a souvenir along with the race number.
Results:
The organizer will publish the results immediately after the event on the website sportsofttiming.sk and subsequently on bratislavamarathon.sk. Runners will be listed in the results list according to the official time (time from the start signal to the moment of crossing the finish line). The results list will also include an informative indication of the achieved net (unofficial) time.
Rules:
The race is conducted according to the rules of WA athletic competitions and the provisions of these regulations. A runner may leave the course with permission and under the supervision of the referee on the condition that they do not shorten the race distance. A runner who accepts refreshments outside the refreshment stations risks being disqualified from the race. The runner must immediately withdraw from the race at the direction of the event's chief medical officer. Any accompanying (including cycling escort) or any assistance to the runner during the competition by other individuals, except for necessary medical intervention by a physician designated by the event's organizational authority, is considered unauthorized assistance.
Using headphones during the race is prohibited, and the runner faces disqualification. This is especially dangerous considering the safety of runners and spectators, any organizational directions, interventions, and instructions from organizers on the course during the race, the need to respond to the movement of accompanying vehicles, motorcycles, and bicycles of the organizer, police, health, and rescue services, and last but not least, you miss out on the atmosphere created by runners, spectators, and the accompanying program prepared for you.
Protests:
Protests must be orally submitted to the head referee no later than 30 minutes after the results are published. An appeal against the decision of the head referee, accompanied by a deposit of €10, must be submitted in writing to the jury within 30 minutes of the official announcement of the decision of the head referee.
Material Prizes:
The first three women and the first three men in the overall standings and according to age categories on the 5 km and 10 km courses will receive material prizes. Material prizes will also be awarded to the first three women and three men in the overall standings of Nordic walking.
Changing Rooms and Storage:
There is an opportunity to change clothes and store personal belongings in the starting and finishing areas in the technical zone.
Toilets:
Mobile toilets will be located near the start and finish areas in the technical zone.
Health Service:
A rapid health and rescue service will be available in the starting and finishing areas, as well as along the race route.
Notice:
Due to the nature of the race (running in the evening under artificial lighting), participants are asked to exercise increased caution and consider using their own reflective elements. The use of headlights, especially for the 10 km run, is recommended.
The organizer BE COOL, s.r.o. reserves the right to adjust and specify certain details stated in these regulations or organizational instructions depending on the circumstances. BE COOL, s.r.o. also reserves the right to cancel or interrupt the event or any of its disciplines in the event of serious danger, particularly war, epidemic spread, adverse weather conditions, terrorism threat, or other attack endangering the safety of event participants, or due to other unforeseeable force majeure events and circumstances.
In such a case, the runner does not have the right to a refund of the registration fee or its part because the organizer has already incurred costs for preparing the event before the actual moment of interruption/cancellation of the event. However, after considering all circumstances and quantifying the costs associated with preparing the event, the organizer may compensate the runner for part of the registration fee.
