ČSOB Bratislava Marathon Celebrates Its 20th Edition with a Record Number of Participants!

In just five weeks, Bratislava will become the center of the running world! The 20th jubilee edition of the ČSOB Bratislava Marathon, taking place on April 5–6, 2025, has already seen massive interest—more than 15,000 runners have registered for the event.

More than 2,600 international runners from over 30 countries have already confirmed their participation, further emphasizing the event’s international appeal.

Due to high demand, registration for most disciplines has already closed. The capacities for the ČSOB Marathon (2,000 spots), Renault Half Marathon (6,000 spots), and the Mattoni 10K (2,000 spots) were filled the fastest. Registration is now also closed for the Garmin Run Series Mini Marathon, Senior Run & Walk, and the BILLA Relay Marathon.

For the second time in the event’s history, the main discipline—the ČSOB Bratislava Marathon—will also serve as the Slovak Championship in the longest endurance discipline. The first Slovak Marathon Championship within the event took place in 2017. The half-marathon championship has also been part of the event in previous years, including 2009, 2010, 2014, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2024.

The 20th anniversary of the ČSOB Bratislava Marathon will also feature the 15th edition of the Slovak Ministry of Interior and Police Force Championships in the marathon and half-marathon for both men and women.

Preparation for the marathon weekend began in winter, with runners training as part of the ČSOB Winter Series 2025. The series was a huge success, with each event selling out! The absolute winners of the series will be announced on Saturday, April 5, directly at the event.

The 20th edition of the ČSOB Bratislava Marathon will officially kick off on Saturday, April 5! The running program will start with children’s races—including the Baby Crawl, the Bratislava Mile, and the Turbo TV Kids Runs. This will be followed by the Garmin Run Series Mini Marathon (4.2 km), including the Senior Run & Walk for runners over 60. Saturday’s program will culminate with the Mattoni 10K race.

On Sunday, April 6—known as “Race Day”—participants of the main disciplines will take their place at the starting line. These include the ČSOB Marathon, the Renault Half Marathon, and the BILLA Relay Races (both marathon and half-marathon relays).

The main event venue, M. R. Štefánik Square near Eurovea, will once again transform into a vibrant running village full of experiences. In addition to partner booths with activities for runners and spectators, a rich accompanying program will also be available.

The running village will also feature the traditional “Charity Zone,” where visitors can explore booths from various charitable organizations, learn about their initiatives, and support their activities.

The event will also include representatives of inclusion—runners with disabilities—who are an integral part of the running community, proving that running is for everyone.

To mark the 20th edition, a ČSOB Bratislava Marathon Commemorative Book is being created, documenting the history of the event from its beginnings to the present day. It will be available online for all running enthusiasts.

Ahead of the event, a press conference will be held on March 26, 2025, in the Mirror Hall of the Primate’s Palace. The organizers will present event details, special activities, and expectations for the milestone edition.
