As its native citizens we are proud of Bratislava and we would like to introduce it to you. As participants of ČSOB Bratislava marathon you have got a unique opportunity to know beautiful parts, sights and streets of its historical downtown, modern urban architecture as well as the most favourite places of relax of its citizens while enjoying some sport activity.
Starting point is situated in the hearth of the city - in Hviezdoslav Square - where the image of the Slovak National Theater and the other monuments together with the sound of opera are creating very pleasant atmosphere of thus event.
The shot starts the race full of knowing the capital as well as yourself. From Mostová Street we are getting to Ľ. Štúr Square where we can see Danube Quay and its majestic ships. We continue on the left down Vajanského Quay and Dostojevského Rad passing a modern building of VÚB Bank. We have already managed 2 kilometers of the race in here. We continue on the left down Záhradnícka Street across Americké Square, down Špitálska Street towards department store Tesco in Kamenné Square. 
After turning right we can feel a small incline when crossing SNP Square then we are getting to the Michael's Gate which is an entrance gate to one of the most beautiful parts of the historical downtown. This beautiful sight will be the best reward for our pain and exhaustion. Full of enthusiasm we are coming back to Hviezdoslav Square and after 5 kilometers we are leaving downtown running behind the Hotel Danube. 
We continue over the New Bridge then on the right bank of the Danube, along Panónska Street where there is the most difficult part of the race waiting for us. This leads around Petržalka - the biggest residential district of Bratislava. Eight kilometers long race is monotone and typical for its strong headwind. 
After eight kilometers we will run up to the dam - one of the most favourite places of relax for the Bratislava citizens. After six kilometers of dreaming in this area full of green we will run up to the Old Bridge where we will have a beautiful view of the Bratislava Castle - dominant of our city. From the bridge which leads to the Šafárik Square we continue on the left along Vajanského Quay, Ľ. Štúr Square and Mostová Street until we finish 21.1 kilometers long race in the finishing point. However, for the marathon runners is their fight with time and themselves still not over. They continue down Jesenského and Štúrova Street, across Šafárikovo Square where they continue on the same race as in the first round. Marathon runners, don't be sad, that the others have already finished! Be happy, that you can see all the beauties of our city once again!
Dear runners! For those who think that 21 kilometers are too much, we have prepared a shorter 5 kilometers long race. This is situated in the most beautiful streets of the historical downtown connected with visiting favourite relaxing area of Bratislava citizens - Sad Janka Kráľa. From Hviezdoslav Square, in front of historical building of the Slovak National Theater we will be lead by a smell of well-known restaurant network to the Rybárska Gate, where we will be pleased by a face of famous figure "Rubberneck" which is watching its surrounding from the channel. The crooked race leads from Laurinská, Nedbalova and Klobučnícka Street to Primaciálne Square where you will be rewarded by a beautiful sight of the Primaciálny Palace and the Old Town Hall - the eldest one in the Slovak Republic.
Through Kostolná Street we are coming to one of the most beautiful squares in Bratislava - Hlavné Square (The Main Square) with its famous Roland Fountain. We continue on the right across Františkánske Square, down Biela and Michalská Street where we turn right to Sedlárska Street. We are passing Hlavné Square and through Zelená, Ventúrska and Strakova Street we are coming to Hviezdoslav Square. The race in historical downtown is finished in here. We continue over the New Bridge, coming to a green park called Sad Janka Kráľa. After one round in this park we are coming back over the New Bridge to the city center where we have to take the last 800 meters of the race which copy its first meters. The eyes of "Rubberneck" together with ovations of the spectators will accompany us when finishing our run.
We didn't forget our children either. We will lead them across Hviezdoslav Square and Hlavné Square where the race will continue differently depending on the age categories. The smallest ones will run across Hlavné Square to Rybná Gate, finishing in Hviezdoslav Square. The elder ones will have to run a bit longer - across Františkánske Square, Biela, Michalská, Sedlárska Street and then they continue on the same race as the younger children. Parents and ovations will undoubtedly help our children to overcome the last meters of the race and to win not only over the other competitors but over exhaustion as well.
We invite all the people who are fascinated by sport to show their favour by their active participation. You can take part either as competitors or as spectators who create unforgettable atmosphere which is needed when fighting with exhaustion or pain - the essential part of sport performance. Your ovations are the best reward for all the participants.
